Epicland, a brand jointly developed by Dongfeng Motor and Huawei, said on Sunday that its first model, the Epicland X9, will officially launch on September 24.
The SUV opened for pre-sales on August 18, with 3 variants priced from 299,800 yuan ($44,400) to 379,800 yuan.
Orders exceeded 16,000 within 12 hours of pre-sales opening and topped 20,000 within 24 hours, according to Epicland.
Billed as a "second-generation family flagship," the Epicland X9 is a large SUV with 3 rows and 6 seats. Its main rivals include the Aito M9 and Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI)'s Li L9.
Exclusive pre-sales benefits expire on September 24. They include lifetime warranties for the vehicle and its battery, motor and electronic control systems, a 2,000-yuan reservation deposit that counts toward 5,000 yuan of the purchase price, and priority production and delivery once orders are locked in.
The brand has named Hong Kong singer Aaron Kwok as the global ambassador for the Epicland X9.
The Epicland X9 measures 5,301 mm in length, 2,015 mm in width and 1,820 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,120 mm. Its third-row seat cushion measures 1,101 mm across.
It features the HarmonySpace 6 cockpit and comes standard with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 assisted-driving system across all variants.
Its assisted-driving hardware includes Huawei's next-generation dual-optical-path imaging-grade LiDAR and 3 high-precision solid-state LiDAR units.
The SUV uses an extended-range powertrain with a 74-kWh battery pack, offering up to 465 km of battery-only range and more than 1,500 km of combined range.
The Epicland X9 features Huawei's Qiankun Chitu platform, dual-chamber air suspension and rear-wheel steering of up to 14 degrees in either direction, enabling a turning radius of 5.3 meters.
Epicland uses what it calls a "1+N" new retail model, with plans for more than 300 stores across 79 key cities.
A day before the Epicland X9's launch, Aistaland, a brand jointly developed by Huawei and GAC Group (HKEX: 2238), will launch its second model, the GX7, on September 23, underscoring the rapid expansion of Huawei's automotive partnerships.
