The new Geely EX5 electric SUV was officially revealed in China with RWD for 329 hp and a 70 kWh battery suitable for 635 km of CLTC range. It will enter the domestic market as the Geely Galaxy E5 on September 23.
The updated Geely EX5 was previously exposed in China during the domestic homologation process. Later, this model was revealed in spy shots with a spacious front trunk. At first glance, it looks similar to the ongoing EX5 crossover. However, it adopts conventional door handles, a LiDAR-mounted sensor, additional sensors in the front fenders, and sporty bumpers with matte-chrome elements.
The new Geely EX5 is a compact crossover with dimensions of 4636/1920/1670 mm. Its wheelbase stretches to 2,750 mm.
For clarity, it is 13 mm shorter than the Skoda Enyaq. There is a spacious front trunk with a capacity of 160 liters and an electrically powered hood.
The max load of this frunk is 50 kg. The EX5 rides on 19-inch wheels.
Its charging port sits in the rear fender on the driver’s side.
The car’s dashboard has a floating touchscreen, an LCD instrument cluster, and a head-up display. Its gear shifter sits behind the D-shaped steering wheel.
The center tunnel has a wireless phone charger, a knob-shifter, and a set of physical buttons. Other fine features include the Flyme Sound acoustic system, a rear armrest, and a large panoramic sunroof.
The EX5 offers the G-ASD G-Pilot H5 assisted driving system that supports the Navigate On Autopilot (NOA) function on urban roads and highways.
As first reported by CarNewsChina, the new Geely EX5 adopts an electric motor on the rear axle for 245 kW (329 hp). It’s 114 hp more than the ongoing model.
The new EX5 stands on the 800V high-voltage platform. The entry-level battery with a capacity of 61.5 kWh offers 550 km of CLTC range (451 km WLTP).
The top-trim Geely EX5 boasts a 70 kWh pack for 635 km CLTC (521 km WLTP). For clarity, the ongoing model offers 430 – 475 km of WLTP range.
The new Geely EX5 will enter the Chinese market on September 23. According to China EV DataTracker, the Geely EX5 delivered 40,776 units from January to August 2026, down 45.9% Year-Over-Year.
