BYD launched the updated version of the first-generation BYD Seal 07 sedan in early March 2026. However, this model suffered from sluggish sales. According to China EV DataTracker, BYD handed over just 8,017 units of the Seal 07 to customers in China from January to September 2026. The world’s largest NEV maker reacted rapidly by launching the all-new second-gen sedan just eight months later.

The new BYD Seal 07 adopts the latest design language of the Ocean series called “Ocean Aesthetics 2.0.” In terms of styling, this model stays close to the previously launched Seal 08 flagship model. It has similar slim DRLs, a closed front end, headlights integrated into a front bumper, and a full-width taillight strip.
It also has a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, which is a part of the God’s Eye B assisted driving system, capable of the Navigate On Autopilot (NOA) function.
The second-gen BYD Seal 07 is a sizeable car with dimensions of 5080/1960/1495 mm and a wheelbase of 2,960 mm. For clarity, it is 20 mm longer than the global variant of the BMW 5 Series (G60).
The car is available with six exterior colors: green, pink, purple, silver, white, and black. The BEV variant of the Seal 07 offers a 618-liter trunk complemented by a frunk with a volume of 160 liters.
As for the PHEV version, its trunk offers 595 liters of storage space.

The interior of the second-gen Seal 07 stays in line with most of the BYD-branded models. There is a 15.6-inch floating screen, a head-up display, and a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster in the dashboard.
The gear shifter sits behind a three-spoke D-shaped steering wheel. The center tunnel offers a 50W wireless phone charger and a block of physical buttons.
However, this sedan has one quirky feature, which is a “smart companion” called Diva. It is actually a smartwatch that can perform several functions.
And it has a number of “cute expressions too.
In case Diva isn’t enough, and you are bored by the Seal 07 cabin, it also offers four integrated magnetic mounting points for different accessories. The rear passengers can also install tablets on the back of the front seats. The Seal 07 comes standard with heated and ventilated front seats, and dual-zone climate control with a high-temperature sterilization mode. Other features include a glass roof, acoustic windows, a power tailgate, and hands-free in-car karaoke.

The car speeds up to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. The top speed is 240 km/h.
However, the core highlight of this sedan is the Blade 2.0 LFP battery with 76.7 kWh. This pack allows the new Seal 07 EV to run up to 775 km under CLTC conditions (636 km WLTP).
The car’s energy consumption is 9.8 kWh per 100 km. The battery supports flash charging technology, charging from 10 to 97% in nine minutes.
The new BYD Seal 07 DM-i adopts a 1.5-liter petrol-powered engine for 115 kW (154 hp) paired with a front-mounted electric motor for 160 kW (215 hp). The 0-to-100 km/h acceleration time is 7.7 seconds. The battery pack offers a capacity of 38 kWh, suitable for 330 km of electric CLTC range (271 km WLTP).
The BYD Seal 07 features a front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension setup. Its lower trims are equipped with the DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system. Higher trims offer the DiSus-M intelligent magnetorheological system. This suspension was previously available only in Denza and Fang Cheng Bao cars.
