Skoda Auto has started series production of the all-new Skoda Peaq, the brand’s largest and most advanced electric SUV to date. Built at Skoda’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav, the new model joins the fully electric Enyaq and Elroq on the same production line, highlighting the automaker’s growing flexibility in its transition toward electric mobility.
Since its market launch in June, the Peaq has generated strong customer interest, with nearly 8,500 orders recorded by the end of July. The new flagship SUV expands Skoda’s electric vehicle lineup while introducing a larger, more spacious model aimed at the premium end of the family SUV segment.
Skoda Peaq production supports flexible EV manufacturing
The Peaq is the fourth model produced on the Mladá Boleslav production line, alongside the electric Enyaq, electric Elroq and combustion-powered Octavia Combi. Originally designed for vehicles with traditional powertrains, the facility has undergone major upgrades to support modern electric vehicle production.
The Enyaq became the first fully electric model built at the plant in 2020, followed by the Elroq in early 2025 and now the Peaq. This flexible manufacturing approach allows Skoda to quickly adjust production volumes based on market demand.
Additional capacity has also been created at Skoda’s Kvasiny plant, where Octavia models are now produced, freeing up space in Mladá Boleslav for the company’s expanding EV portfolio. Electric vehicles represented nearly 23% of Skoda production at Czech plants during the first half of 2026.
Largest battery ever used in a Skoda EV
The new Skoda Peaq features the largest traction battery ever fitted to a Skoda electric vehicle. The top version uses a 91 kWh gross battery pack (86 kWh net), delivering an estimated driving range of more than 640 kilometres on a single charge.
Skoda also manufactures the Peaq’s battery systems at its Mladá Boleslav facility. Buyers can choose between two battery options, including a smaller 63 kWh gross battery (59 kWh net), with power outputs ranging from 150 kW to 220 kW. Both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations are available.
Based on Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB) platform, the Peaq shares technology with the Enyaq and Elroq, allowing Skoda to benefit from production efficiencies across its electric SUV range.
Skoda’s largest SUV brings new technology
Measuring 4.87 metres in length with a wheelbase of almost three metres, the Peaq becomes Skoda’s largest vehicle since joining the Volkswagen Group. It marks the brand’s entry into the large electric SUV segment and serves as its new flagship model.
The Peaq introduces several features not previously offered by Skoda, including flush-mounted door handles, a panoramic roof with Dynamic Shade Control and bidirectional charging capability.
Adapting the production line for the larger SUV required extensive engineering work, including new production skids, improved ergonomics and a dedicated manipulator system to support installation of the optional third-row seating. The body shop, paint shop and logistics systems were also upgraded to ensure efficient production.
Skoda expands electric lineup with Peaq and Epiq
The Peaq joins the smaller Skoda Epiq electric crossover as part of the company’s strategy to expand its battery-electric portfolio. While the Peaq targets customers seeking a large, premium electric SUV, the Epiq is designed as a more affordable urban EV produced in Spain through Volkswagen Group’s electric vehicle collaboration.
With two new electric models entering the market, Skoda aims to strengthen its position in Europe’s rapidly growing EV sector. The company ranked among the continent’s strongest-selling automotive brands in the first half of 2026, supported by rising demand for its electrified vehicles.
