Zeekr 001: 8-minute charging on the horizon? The post 2027 Zeekr 001 revealed: new version could feature Geely’s 8-minute fully-charging tech appeared first on CarNewsChina.com .

A latest version of the Zeekr 001 electric sedan has been spotted in the latest product announcement from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), produced by Geely Auto, the latest Zeekr 001 continues the brand’s design language, featuring the full-width taillight assembly and “Zeekr” branding on the rear.
Dimensions
According to the submitted information, the dimensions and weight of the new Zeekr 001 are as follows:

Performance and powertrain
The vehicle is equipped with a single rear-mounted electric motor (model TZ230XYC04), manufactured by Quzhou Jidian Electric Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd (a Geely subsidiary). It delivers a maximum power output of 370kW (496 hp), enabling a top speed of 240 km/h or 280 km/h.
The vehicle utilises a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, with cells supplied and the pack assembled by Geely.
Customization
The vehicle offers extensive personalisation options, including various body colours, rear spoilers, mirror designs, and braking components. Furthermore, it supports an optional towing package with a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 kg and comes equipped with an Event Data Recorder (EDR) and optional ETC (Electronic Toll Collection) hardware.

Potential for Geely’s 8-minute fully-charged technology
CarNewsChina estimates this model may integrate Geely’s latest “Smart Charging” technology. Given that the 2024 Zeekr 001 launched as the world’s fastest-charging production vehicle with a 5C charging rate, the combination of this LFP battery and Geely’s proprietary charging tech could push performance further. According to our earlier report, Geely’s Smart Charging technology may charge from near-empty to 97% in 8 minutes and 40 seconds.
For comparison, the current Zeekr 001 is available with two battery options: a version using Geely lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, which takes 7 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, and a version using CATL ternary lithium (NCM) batteries, which takes 10 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.
