New filing information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has revealed the upcoming Arcfox Beta T1 battery-swap version. This new variant supports a “vehicle-battery separation” sales model (Battery-as-a-Service, or BaaS).

The Beta T1 battery-swap version remains largely consistent with the current production model. The vehicle is positioned as a small pure electric sedan with dimensions of 4,375mm in length, 1,860mm in width, and 1,572mm in height, featuring a wheelbase of 2,770mm. Customers can choose between two wheel specifications: 215/55 R17 and 215/55 R18.

The Arcfox T1 was originally launched in August of last year with a starting price of 68,800 yuan (10,100 USD). With the introduction of the battery-swap version and the BaaS model, the initial purchase price is expected to be even more competitive. By way of comparison, in May this year, BAIC launched the battery-swap version of the Beta S3, with a starting price of 59,800 yuan (8,800 USD) under the BaaS model.

The filing indicates a wide array of customisation options for the new model. Users can opt for a panoramic sunroof, body-colored or contrasting designs for the roof sides and rear spoiler, various rim styles, different colored brake callipers, body-colored side mirrors, D-pillar trim, and body-colored or contrasting door frames. Additionally, the vehicle will feature a dedicated identity badge for the battery-swap version. For intelligent driving, two radar configurations are available – a 3-radar and a 6-radar setup—corresponding to different levels of driver assistance functionality.

Regarding performance, the vehicle is powered by a drive motor produced by Hunan CRRC Times Electric Co., Ltd. The motor delivers a peak power of 95 kW (127 hp), allowing the car to reach a top speed of 150 km/h. The Beta T1 utilises lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, with the battery produced by CATL.
