Earlier today, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released a long, two-page list of new models permitted for sale in the country. The ID. ERA 5X was one of those models. These filings help us to learn about coming models well before they come to market. Of course, one key thing they don’t tell us is how much the vehicles will cost, but they tell us a lot of other information.

SAIC Volkswagen also announced today that another ID. ERA model is coming soon. Pre-sales begin on August 11, and the sedan will launch in the third quarter.

There is one ID. ERA model already on the market. That’s the ID. ERA 9X. However, the ID. ERA 9X is an extended-range electric vehicle rather than a fully electric vehicle.
