It was officially confirmed that the Yangwang Altior luxury sedan from BYD will be released in Abu Dhabi on November 8. At the same time, this model was spotted in the wild without camouflage, revealing tons of chrome trim.

The Yangwang Altior (the Chinese domestic name is Dingyao) was previously known by the codename HU. This car was previously said to be officially revealed in the UAE around November 5.

On November 5, BYD officials released a teaser clip, disclosing the date of the Yangwang Altior’s debut in Abu Dhabi. This vehicle will break cover on November 8. Despite BYD staying silent about this luxury driver’s specs, it has been seen on the streets several times.

The latest spy photos show that this car adopts a similar posture to the mentioned Rolls-Royce Ghost. The front end of this Chinese flagship has a large grille and running lights inspired by a ding, which is an ancient Chinese pot with two legs and two rim handles. The Altior has rear-hinged rear doors that can open up to 90 degrees. From the back, it has two rectangular taillights.

The Yangwang Altior boasts a lot of chrome-plated elements around the body alongside sizeable monoblock rims. It has a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, which is part of BYD’s God’s Eye assisted driving system. This ADAS is suitable for the Navigate On Autopilot (NOA) feature, allowing a car to drive from address to address on its own. BYD previously confirmed it will bring the God’s Eye system to Europe.

It was previously shared that the Altior has an approximate body length of 5,500 mm and a wheelbase of 3,350 mm. This luxury sedan is expected to get four electric motors and hydraulic suspension. According to China EV DataTracker, Yangwang handed over 3,251 vehicles to owners domestically from January to September 2026, up 38.9% Year-Over-Year.
